Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 24, 2026

This policy describes how In Our Space (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles information when you use the Our Space mobile applications for Android and iOS and our website at inourspace.net. By using the apps or site, you agree to this policy.

Health, fitness, and wellness-related data (Our Space app)

Our Space is a relationship and communication app for couples. We do not operate a medical or clinical service, and the app is not intended to diagnose or treat health conditions.

What we do not do

  • We do not read or sync data from Google Health Connect, Apple Health, or similar platform health databases.
  • We do not collect heart rate, steps, sleep, blood pressure, or other sensor or wearable vitals from your device for our own purposes.
  • We do not sell health or wellness data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

What may relate to wellbeing (how we use it)

  • You may voluntarily enter or send content in the app (for example messages, notes, quizzes, or profile information) that describes feelings, mood, or your relationship. That information is processed only to provide the features you use (for example showing chat to you and your partner, saving notes, or quiz results), to operate and secure the service, and as described elsewhere in this policy.
  • If we offer optional features that analyze content to support conversation or safety (for example suggesting responses or detecting severe distress), such processing is limited to operating those features and improving reliability; it is not used to show you third-party ads.

Location. If you choose to share your location with your partner in chat, we process location only for that feature and as described in the Location section below.

Information we collect (app and account)

We collect and process data we need to run Our Space. Categories include:

  • Account details you provide (such as email, name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with email, Google, or Apple).
  • Content you create in the app (messages, media you send, notes, goals, quizzes, and similar) so we can show them to you and, where the feature is shared, to your linked partner.
  • Device and technical data needed for security and reliability (such as device type, app version, operating system, IP address or connection metadata, crash diagnostics, and push notification tokens).
  • Location — approximate or precise location only when you use a feature that shares location with your partner, as allowed by your device permissions (see the Location section).
  • Payment-related information is processed by payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; app stores and, where applicable, other payment processors handle card and billing data according to their terms.
  • With your permission where required: camera, photo library, microphone (e.g. for calls or media), and notifications—only as needed for the features you use.
  • If you contact support, we receive what you send (e.g. email address, message content, attachments).
  • When you browse our marketing website, basic server or hosting logs (and any analytics we enable) may collect data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Website data is generally separate from in-app account data unless you sign in or submit information that identifies you.

AI and automated processing

Some features use automated technologies (including AI) to analyze text or context you provide in the app—for example to suggest alternative wording before you send a message. Processing happens to deliver those features and improve their reliability, under contracts and safeguards with our service providers where applicable. It is not used for third-party advertising.

Location

We do not continuously track your location in the background for our own unrelated purposes. If you use a feature that lets you share your location with your partner (for example in chat), we process location data only to provide that feature, for as long as you use it and subject to the permissions you grant on your device. You can revoke location permission in your device settings.

How we use your information

  • Provide accounts, link partners, and deliver in-app features (messaging, media, goals, reminders, quizzes, calls where enabled, optional AI-assisted tools)
  • Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service; prevent abuse and fraud
  • Send service-related and security messages; product updates where permitted or where you opt in
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms
  • Use aggregated or de-identified data to improve the product where allowed

Processing of content that may relate to wellbeing is described under Health, fitness, and wellness-related data (Our Space app) above.

Advertising

The Our Space mobile app does not display third-party advertising and does not share your app data with advertising networks for ad targeting.

Our marketing website (inourspace.net) may use basic analytics or hosting logs to measure traffic and fix errors. If we use analytics cookies or similar technologies, we will describe them in a cookie notice where required. Website analytics are not used to personalize ads inside the Our Space app unless we specifically say so and obtain any required consent.

Service providers

We use trusted service providers (processors) only to run Our Space—for example:

  • Cloud hosting and APIs — e.g. Microsoft Azure, where your account and app data may be stored and processed
  • Push notifications — e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and Apple Push Notification service (iOS)
  • Email delivery for account or support messages (e.g. sign-in codes or replies from support)
  • Subscription and payment processing through Google Play, Apple App Store, and, where applicable, other payment processors they or we use
  • Providers that support AI or security features strictly as needed to operate those features, under contract

They process data on our instructions and under agreement, not for their own advertising. We do not allow them to sell your personal data. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

International transfers, if any, use appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) where required.

Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your region, we rely on bases such as: contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, improvement, support—balanced against your rights), consent where required, and legal obligation.

Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete your account from in-app settings where available; we will delete or anonymize personal data subject to legal retention requirements. Contact us if you need help.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information (including encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, and secure infrastructure). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. Contact us at the email below; we respond within timeframes required by applicable law (e.g. about one month for many GDPR requests, subject to permitted extensions).

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may have rights to know categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, to delete or correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To submit a request, contact us below.

Children

Our Space is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law (including 13 in the United States, or higher where local rules apply). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of those rules. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Third-party links

The app or site may link to other sites or services. Their practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with an updated “Last updated” date. We may provide additional notice (e.g. in-app) for material changes where required.
